Alright lads, for pure value, especially with these prices, it's bars, hands down. You simply get more metal for your money. Premiums are always lower on bars, particularly the larger units. A Kilo silver bar versus 32-odd coins? No brainer for getting weight in hand with less premium percentage tacked on. But... and it's a big but... coins have their place. Sovereigns or Britannias are recognised globally, zero VAT, and easier to shift if you need to offload a smaller amount quickly. For pure accumulation and getting the most ounces for your quid, bars win every time. For liquidity and ease of sale, stack some coins too. A balanced stack is probably the best value overall.

Chasing low premiums is definitely the play, especially for stacking weight. I started big on bars myself, thinking it was a total no-brainer. But I've since found gold sovereigns, often with near-bar premiums, offer far more flexibility if you ever need to sell smaller amounts. Makes a difference,
Granted, bigger silver bars seem like the lowest premium play for silver. But when it comes to shifting a kilo, or even a half-kilo, quickly for some urgent cash, are those chunky bars as easy to offload as, say, a few tubes of Britannias? You might find you're waiting a bit longer.
