For me, it's always been about weight targets, pure and simple. Value targets are a mug's game, especially with silver dancing around £47/oz. One week you're "up," the next you're "down" – it's too volatile for a consistent plan. Gold at £3113 an ounce feels more stable, but still. I'd rather aim for a specific number of ounces of gold and silver. That’s tangible. That's real wealth preservation, not chasing a fleeting number. Just keep stacking when you can afford it. The weight accumulates; the value will follow eventually.

My silver stack's paper value changes more than my mind on dinner. Honestly, aiming for weight means I don't cry when the market says I'm suddenly poorer.

Weight's certainly a target. Just ensure that weight isn't prone to a jig. A good sovereign usually sits still, doesn't it?
That jig is exactly why my weight's secure off-site, Steve. Saw what happened to a mate who kept everything home – not pretty.
Indeed, a sovereign's weight is fixed, but its numismatic value ensures it often sits well above mere bullion, quite steadily.
